Stonerefiners

Stonerefiners dwell deep beneath the surface, in cavernous tunnels where their darkvision gives them a distinct advantage. Because of their relentless hunger for ore and stone they consume vast amounts of mineral-rich rock.

They have rough, grey skin due to them feeding on minerals and stone. Their eyes glow with a blood-red hue, standing out against their otherwise rocky appearance. Their tails and skulls bear a resemblance to fish-like creatures. That's why scholars speculate that stonerefiners originated from aquatic ancestors. Over countless generations, they adapted to life on land, to seek richer mineral deposits and to escape the larger predators that once hunted them in the ocean.

These reptiles have a bulky appearanceare and possess tremendous physical strength as well as powerful jaws lined with razor-sharp teeth. Stonerefiners can expel a corrosive acidic substance capable of dissolving even solid stone. They are also known to trigger violent ground tremors, sending shockwaves through the surrounding terrain.

Stonerefiners have 800 hitpoints. They are strong against earth damage. On the other hand, they are weak against fire, ice and physical damage. These creatures can neither be summoned nor convinced.

Stonerefiners yield 500 experience points. They carry coal, globs of acid slime, half-digested stones, platinum coins, poisonous slime, rare earth, rat cheese and stonerefiner's skulls with them.
