Of all necromantic bone constructs, few are as unstable, or as terrifying, as the Roaming Dread. It's a grotesque colossus reanimated from the remnants of a long-lost race. Its bones glow with a sickly green shimmer, as if charged with volatile necromantic energies. The creature's frame is barely held together, twitching and lurching with each step, as though collapse or detonation were imminent. Some scholars of the dark arts even claim, the Roaming Dread was not merely reanimated, but reforged from bones and corrupted shadows.
Legends claim that ancient bonelords once unleashed whole packs of these monsters to serve as siege beasts, battering down the walls of civilizations that no longer exist. Even in their fractured state, they remain dangerously powerful, guided by nothing more than destructive instinct and an endless hunger for release. Most of the Roaming Dreads encountered today were presumably created millennia ago, for only necromancers of legendary power and in possession of forbidden eldritch knowledge would be able to raise one and temper his wrath.
Roaming Dreads have 14500 hitpoints. They cannot be paralysed. On the other hand, they are weak against death, earth, energy, fire and ice damage. These creatures can neither be summoned nor convinced. In addition, they are able to sense invisible creatures.
Roaming Dreads yield 10350 experience points. They carry crystal coins, platinum coins and sometimes other items with them.
